Traffic & Signal Poles

Highway Traffic & Signal Poles

As a traffic signal pole manufacturer, MaiCo Industries provides structural supports for highway signs, luminaires, and traffic signals. Our traffic signal poles are custom engineered to provide heavy-duty support for overhead highway signage. These traffic sign bridges and related structures can be built per AASHTO, DOT or other specifications to meet the needs of most current projects.

We specialize in traffic signal poles that are designed and engineered to withstand hurricane-force winds, commonly used in Florida. In addition, traffic signal poles designed and engineered to withstand snow and ice load, are commonly used in Michigan and Colorado.

Heavy wall traffic signal poles are used in Florida because of their ability to withstand hurricane force winds. The longest traffic pole arm is 88′ long and is located in Florida.

Galvanized Traffic Signal Poles

Galvanized traffic signal poles and combined signal and lighting poles are corrosion resistant. MaiCo Industries will galvanize your high mast lighting poles upon your request. A major galvanizing plant is located within 45 miles of our pole manufacturing plant. Other galvanizing plants are located within a 300-mile radius.

Painted Traffic Signal Poles

Painted traffic signal poles are another finishing option.

TRAFFIC LIGHTING POLE & SIGNAL POLE DESIGN AND MANUFACTURING

MaiCo uses in-house engineering, detailing and quality control to meet the customers’ specifications allowing us to provide a quick and efficient lead-time.

Steel traffic poles that are manufactured by MaiCo Industries are multi-sided steel poles. Steel poles commonly have 8 sides, 12 sides, 16 sides or 18 sides. Manufactured steel traffic poles may be formed to provide a circular appearance, even though they are multi-sided.

Steel for traffic and signal poles is made in the U.S.A. MaiCo Industries’ equipment includes a de-coiler so steel may be cut to length at our site. After cutting the carbon steel, a 60 foot press brake is used to bend the steel. The Pacific press brake has 5’ deep throat, lasers at both ends and  1 million pounds of bend force per sq. inch. The 60 foot x 2000 ton capacity allows MaiCo to brake typical shaft materials up to ¾” x 60’-0” and a pole diameter of up to 8’-0”.
