CSA W47.1 FUSION WELDING OF STEEL COMPANY CERTIFICATION
The Canadian Standards Association sets the criteria for Standard W47.1. Based on the type of work to be undertaken a company may be certified for Fusion Welding of Steel in one of three Divisions. Companies who wish to be certified under this standard are required to qualify their Welding Supervisors and their Welding Engineers, submit for review and approval their Company’s Welding Procedures and qualify their Welding personnel (welders or operators).

Maico Industries is a member of the Short Span Steel Bridge Alliance, https://www.shortspansteelbridges.org and actively works with engineers as they develop plans for a bridge using the Folded Plate Bridge or SPS technology. The Short Span Steel Bridge Alliance (SSSBA) is a group of bridge and buried soil structure industry leaders who have joined together to provide educational information on the design and construction of short span steel bridges in installations up to 140 feet in length.

AAHSTO, American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials https://www.transportation.org is a standards setting body which publishes specifications, test protocols and guidelines which are used in highway design and construction throughout the United States. Despite its name, the association represents not only highways but air, rail, water, and public transportation as well.[1]

The voting membership of AASHTO consists of the Department of Transportation of each state in the United States, as well as those of Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia. The United States Department of Transportation, some U.S. cities, counties and toll-road operators, most Canadian provinces as well as the Hong Kong Highways Department, the Turkish Ministry of Public Works and Settlement and the Nigerian Association of Public Highway and Transportation Officials have non-voting associate memberships.[1]

Though it sets transportation standards and policy for the United States as a whole, AASHTO is not an agency of the federal government; rather it is an organization of the states themselves. Policies of AASHTO are not federal laws or policies, but rather are ways to coordinate state laws and policies in the field of transportation.
